The school has been in existence for over 31 years and operates from owned premises.
In 1997 the first grade one class was introduced. The school has since grown significantly in size and capacity and has since expanded both in terms of scope and scale resulting in the introduction of secondary school. The school has a total of 46 classes with an average of 35 students in each class and 85 employees.​

This transformation has occurred over the years against the backdrop of the parent Church NAOG establishing an independent School Board and registering the School as an independent separate legal entity limited by guarantee.

At Sonshine we believe that our primary activity is a means of contributing to our nation’s development aspirations through developing pupils from a tender age into an educated and responsible citizenry. 

This contribution delivered within the values of the Christian faith cements our belief that a responsible, educated and patriotic citizen is not born but made through provision of leading edge educational services. 

With the ever growing demand for quality nursery, primary and secondary school education boosted by the growing population, the future looks bright for Sonshine. We have currently positioned ourselves as among the top performers at grade seven level in the country, consistently delivering a high pass rate at grades 7, 9 and 12 levels.

​This has been achieved collectively by the effective delivery of both the Management and the Teaching Staff of the School under the guidance of a visionary Board of Governors.​

Consequently, this outstanding performance has led to our Peers and indeed the Ministry of Education recognizing our place among the top Schools in the Country.
